Welcome to BMP Farms, Barton-Bates Mitchell Pace Farms.  BMP Farms is a  small Dairy Goat Farm in Upstate South Carolina beneath the Foothills of Glassy Mountain and the Cherokee Foothills Parkway.

We are continuing the Family Farming Tradition started in 1752 by my 4th Great Grandparents, David Barton and Nancy Barrett, and John Bates and Susannah Hendley who were some of the first settlers in the Tigerville Area.  My Grandparents, James D. Bates and Maude Irene (Cox) Bates,  passed their love of farming and farm animals down to me, their only grandchild, Tonya S. Mitchell, and to Brian Pace who continues to maintain the Family Farm Land.

I, Tonya S. Mitchell,  am a 1990 Graduate of USC with a B.S. in Biology.  I have always loved farm animals and was involved as a child in 4-H showing Black Angus Cattle and Hampshire Pigs, as well as being involved in Public Speaking, Fashion Review, Dairy Products and Electric Club.  One day at church, I had mentioned that I wanted a Goat and received one during a Church Auction from Mr. Charles Hinkle of Blue Ridge Farms, my 1st French Alpine, Ginger.  Then, I saw my 1st Pygmy at a livestock sale, Gilligan, and it was love at first sight.  I could not go home without him.  I started researching the different breeds of goats and found Mary Bowerman at Better Blues Farms and fell in love with the Nigerian Dwarf Breed.  Mary Bowerman has been my mentor ever since and a great source of information. I appreciate all of my Goat Breeder Friends, Mary Bowerman, Lloyd & Kay Kirby, Ginger Parker, Rusty Repp, Cynthia Nowlin, Farmer Shawn Green, Charles Hinkle and my Vets, Dr. Kelly Phillips & Dr. Bryant Phillips of Cleveland Park Animal Hospital.  Each of these people play a special role in the formation of BMP Dairy Goat Farm thru their advice, information and love of Goats.  I have been in love with my Goat Family ever since.  The Goats provide a love and a balance to my stressful world, providing my "Goat Haven".

We are certified and registered with the
NDGA and the ADGA.  We raise, breed and milk our Nigerian Dwarf, French Alpine, Mini Alpine (Dwarf Alpine), and Pygmy Goats.  Our Goats are bottle-fed, kid-friendly, and a part of our Family.  We spend time with our Goats and provide them with lots of love and attention.  We also have Black Angus Cattle, Rhode Island Red Chickens, Cats and Dogs.

We thank God for each of our animals as they are an Important and Vital part of our Family, each having a valuable role.  Our Goats provide us milk to Drink and our Chickens provide us Eggs to eat.  God has given us many Blessings.
We thank God for EVERYTHING!
